AI transparency
Written with AI
How confcall uses AI, how people are told about it, and what you must do as a deployer.
Features that use AI
- Voice and phone agents, and chat agents.
- The meeting assistant and the notetaker.
- Summaries, action items and decisions generated from meetings and calls.
Providers:
- Language model:
gpt-4o. - Speech-to-text: Azure Speech and Deepgram.
- Text-to-speech: Azure neural voices and ElevenLabs.
Disclosure to people talking to an agent
Every agent session starts with "You're talking to an AI assistant." in the session language, unless the welcome message already says it is an AI. The widget shows an "AI" badge.
AI presence in meetings
While an AI is present in a meeting, everyone in the meeting sees "AI in this meeting" and a line in the chat.
Provenance in API responses
Artifact responses carry a provenance object with aiGenerated,
aiAssisted and generator. Chat replies carry aiGenerated.
Keep these fields when you republish the content.
Audio in recordings
Agent speech in recordings is not yet machine-marked. We plan to add this before 2 December 2026.
Intended purpose
Customer conversations and meeting notes.
Excluded uses
Do not use confcall for:
- evaluating or monitoring employees,
- emotion recognition,
- biometric categorisation.
A customer who repurposes the system for these uses becomes its provider under Article 25(1)(c) of the EU AI Act.
Deployer duties
- Article 50(3): confcall offers no emotion recognition.
-
Article 50(4): if you publish agent output on matters of public interest, keep
provenance, add a visible "Written with AI" label, or have a named human editor take responsibility. Deepfakes must be labelled. - Article 4: train the people who configure and operate your agents.
Limitations
- Agents can be inaccurate and can produce statements that are not true (hallucination).
- Transcription can contain errors, especially with noisy audio, accents or specialist terms.
- The product supports eleven languages: English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Hungarian, Romanian, Serbian, Czech, Slovak and Italian. For other languages the AI disclosure falls back to English.
